Dr. Phil Defends Himself

Jan. 30: The TV psychologist discusses the situation with Britney Spears’ family and his statement about the pop star. (Today Show Entertainment)Nearly a month after he publicized his efforts to counsel pop star Britney Spears, “Dr. Philâ€? McGraw defended his intentions as non-exploitative. Dr. Phil could end up regretting getting in the middle of Britney Spears’ recent hospitalization.  This guy is a piece of work. A complaint has been filed with the California Board of Psychology claiming Dr. Phil was practicing without a license. Dr. Phil is not licensed to practice in California, and the talk show host reportedly retired his license to practice in Texas in 2006. Though practicing without a license is against the law, Dr. Phil does not need one for his talk show. Guests sign a contract saying they are aware that he is not medically treating them. FIRE HIM OPRAH!

I have met Dr. Phil in person. He is a very kind, authentic and compassionate person and simply answered the call when Brit’s parents called him to ask for his help. He was not practicing medicine. You don’t have to have a medical license to be supportive of friends in need… Puhleeze…
