Reba McEntire’s ‘Reba Duets’ album knocked Kanye West’s ‘Graduation’ out of the Billboard Number One spot this week. Those NASCAAR rednecks sure likes their country music. This is the first time the singer has debuted at No. 1 in her thirty-one year career. Among Reba’s guests on the album are LeAnn Rimes, Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill, Kenney Chesney, and Justin Timberlake.
Jessica Simpson, on the other hand, was denied the opportunity to record a track for the project when she approached Reba and her producers.“Jess thought she had been passed over because Reba would be singing with older, more established artists,â€? a source close to Jessica tells OK! “She was devastated when she found out that Kelly Clarkson was invited to be part of the project.â€? Kelly can actually sing though. I wonder if this was over Jessica forgetting the words to NINE TO FIVE, on the Dolly Parton tribute show….
Reba’s rep tells OK!, “Jessica didn’t contact Reba about appearing on Reba Duets.� Yeah Ok. Jessica Simpson has the spindoctors on speed dial.
