Director Francis Ford Coppola’s office was robbed Wednesday night, and a computer was stolen which held his newest screenplay Tetro. Was it Martin Scorsese? Probably not. Normally people steal or are “inspired” by Francis’ work AFTER he releases the movie, but not this time.
Robbers didn’t break into his private residence, but rather his business headquarters in Buenos Aires. They then tied up employees and ransacked the place. I’m sure Coppola has some sort of backup plan / off site storage solution for things as valuable as scripts, otherwise this would obviously be a little worse than a random robbery. Hmmmm, maybe I should write a screenply on this story…..hmmmm.

Things like this do happen. That is why people that do extensive work from their home PC’s should consider utilizing an online backup software as opposed to a piece of media that is kept in the same room as the machine itself. You should consider a service such as eSureIT from Intronis Technologies (www.intronis.com). This service will allow you to backup all of your data and feel secure knowing that is backed up in 2 locations as well as encrypted when away from you.
With this service you can simply point and click when you need to get any data back.
