Matt Damon Gets Hollywood Star
Matt Damon has received his own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The 36-year-old film star who says he and his friend Ben Affleck once shared a modest apartment not far from the landmark - was the guest of honor at a July 25 ceremony. Also in attendance were his wife, mother, and a throng of screaming fans.
“A few times in my life I’ve had these experiences that are just kind of too big to process and this looks like it’s going to be one of those times,” he said. He said, “I can’t believe I’m standing on a star with my name on it. I’m going to show my kids that. (Pal) Ben (Affleck) and I lived in a really crappy apartment about five blocks away from here and we used to walk up and down here. “This’ll probably sink in when I walk down the street in about six months and see someone peeing on my star.”
I have been a huge Matt Damon fan since day one. He is convincing in any role that he undertakes. Rounders is still my #2 favorite movie of all time and has inspired me to do many of the things that I do today including this blog. I will follow his career for the rest of my life and would like to thank him for his contributions to movie history. I wish I could compliment Ben Affleck 1/1,000,00th of that, but I can’t. He really is brutal, the only thing I liked him in was Dogma or other Kevin Smith movies (but not Jersey Girl).
