Grey’s Anatomy fans who don’t want to spoil one of the cliffhangers from the season finale should stop reading now, and for everyone else: Burke’s not coming back. Isaiah Washington, who played heart surgeon Dr Preston Burke on the TV series Grey’s, did not have his contract renewed. In a statement, an angry Washington said: “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.” Costar Ellen Pompeo, on the other hand, wasn’t as emotional when she spoke to Ryan Seacrest last Friday (June 8). “It doesn’t really have a tremendous lot to do with me,” she said. “So, you know, whatever is meant to be, is meant to be and whatever is going to happen is going to happen - so you just have to roll with the punches. [The producers] are very secretive about things for obvious reasons: I guess actors have big mouths.” Maybe he should try out for Queer Eye For The Straight Guy….

Isaiah Washington says “Grey’s Anatomy” cast mate T.R. Knight should have been fired for stoking the anti-gay epithet controversy.
Isaiah Washington, fired this month from “Grey’s Anatomy” following the firestorm he started with a homophobic invective, hit back at the network Thursday.
“They fired the wrong guy,” the 43-year-old actor said in an interview with the Houston Chronicle.
He blames former cast mate T.R. Knight for stoking the scandal that led him to lose his role in the ABC hit. Knight is the one who should have been let go, he told the newspaper.
“I have to clear my name,” said Washington. “I’ll start from the beginning. I’m telling everything. So here’s the truth.”
