My Chemical Romance have hit back at Marilyn Manson’s claims the band is a poorer version of him - insisting his remarks are just a publicity stunt. I don’t like the blogs but the blogs like me. The shock rocker told reporters last week his song Mutilation Is The Most Sincere Form Of Flattery was inspired by The Black Parade musicians, adding, “I’m embarrassed to be me because these people are doing a really sad, pitiful, shallow version of what I’ve done.
“”If they want to identify with me then here’s a razor blade. Call me when you’re done and we’ll talk.” Ohhhhhhh I am sooooo scared oh dark one! More like a ‘Depends Undergarment’, you old fart!
But My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way refutes the claims, insisting the band don’t take Manson’s words seriously. He says, “We still haven’t found someone that has knocked us down that we need to take seriously.
“If Elvis Costello said we sucked we would think about it a bit but usually it is comments from someone with a new record to promote so the remarks ring hollow.”
My opinion of My Chemical Romance is that these guys are trying to bring back the Rock Opera. This kid can sing! Marilyn Manson sings through computer and his whole persona is played out. He’s a cross between Weird Al Yankovic and Alice Cooper. Throw this fool in the old folks’ home!

I know those where already mentioned…but, I’d rather listen to this, I am a long term supporter of MCR…a soldier of the MCRmy…and a member of the Black Parade. I want to defend this awesome band, because, hey….they are my all time favorite band.
If you want to say I’m wrong..I’m not. I’m not the one telling people to go to hell…like some people. I’m not the one calling people gay. This is my opinion…and, if you want to make it personal…do so. I don’t care.
My Chemical Romance is my life, they are my heroes, they speak through their music, and they saved my life.

To me, they seem more mature, have greater qualities, and are more influential/inspiring. If I were a guy (cause I’m a chick of course) I’d rather look like someone in MCR than Marilyn Manson…and I’d rather sing MCR’s stuff. They are truly original.

Manson has been in this insustry for a long time and created entire genres including opening a doorway for future acts like MCR. My Chemical Romance are image over music. That’s the problem with music today actually. They are a shallow exploitation of all that has come before them. Posers in videos. You don’t have to hate him for telling the truth. Manson was heavily influenced by Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust, so its not like his image is completely groundbreaking. He just made it shocking. On a personal note, MCR’s style doesn’t even match the music. The image is dark and goth but they claim to be a “rock” band. Oh, remember the last album when they were emo? Don’t be naive, you may like the music and the image, but they have a big record label pulling the strings and giving “advice” to make sure the band remains relevant. Good Charlotte. Another example of a band who’s had to repackage their labelling “emo to rock” and again the image is goth punk? At least Manson’s image is true to his music.

Manson doesn’t have to prove anything because all you MCR fans are already doing it for him. After looking at the things that you MCR fans wrote about Marilyn Manson only proves his point!
I don’t listen much to MCR so I don’t know if they’re trying to copy Manson. But as far as I know, Manson works with reverse psychology. Marilyn Manson’s music helps todays troubled youth. It looks like, by the responses of you MCR fans, that you are not troubled at all. I’ve heard such remarks in school since I’ve grown up in this shit-hole country and it was always the kids that had everything handed to them that said those things.
So I dont even need to know what MCR sounds like because now that I know who their fans are–it looks to me like that’s how the band is too.
So, obviously I support Marilyn Manson but I’m not going to talk shit about MCR. I just want to point out the ugly remarks against Manson because he spoke the truth. And I won’t use the word opinion, because I know that Manson, like me, is a man who is constantly seeking the truth and with that said, there is no reason to fall back to opinions. Did you catch how inside the booklet, where it lists the lyrics for the song, “Mutilation is the Most Sincere Form of Flattery,” it lists that he sings “Fuck you” 3 times when he actually only repeats it twice? I don’t sniff coke or smoke meth or anything but I’d imagine that either he simply overlooked that small detail or he was high enough to run straight past it. :O

First off I want to say that Marilyn has A LOT deeper songs than My Chemical Romance. Although I like both bands, I do LOVE Marilyn. My Chemical Romance doesn’t even scratch the surface of how well Marilyn Manson has done. Most of the people that call Manson a “freak” don’t have the balls to be listening to rock music. If you take Manson too seriously, you are lame and boring beyond help.
If you think he’s “Satanic”, you probably are unaware of what he speaks of and too much of a stupid little teenage girl to get what he’s really saying about the modern day misuse of religion and “God”.
Also, if you’re offended by the sexuality and stage antics of a ROCK AND ROLL PERFORMER, you should just listen to Backstreet Boys (or keep listening to MCR-same difference-one just has more makeup).
If you think Manson is a subpar overrated musician, that’s one thing. But the whole “he’s a sick freak” thing from MCR fans shows you how much balls they lack.

There is nothing to fight about. MCR sold the fuck out anyway. Their new album sucks horribly compared to their second album. I guess they thought, “Hmmmmm Marilyn Manson has more fans than fucking Ozzy, lets just slowly start copying him and maybe our concerts will get more views on youtube.” No it didnt work that way did it. And Manson never stole anything from any other artist. He legally purchased the rights and remade the songs better than the original. Manson never stole anything from anyone. He always changes and it always continues to sound better and better. I just got back from the Chicago concert by the way and may I say his voice has not declined at all. At least when he sings high notes he doesnt try to sound like the lead singer from the Vines. The only thing I get pissed off about Manson for is getting rid of Twiggy and John 5.

What Manson does is a stage show. If it freaks you out or offends you, once again, you don’t have any balls to be listening to rock music. Which is meant to be outrageous and loud. Pop-rock sucks. So does MTV and radio.
The teenage girls here (most of MCR’s fans) should just go back to listening to Britney Spears or whatever they did before MCR.
