Dave Navarro Says ‘Rock Star’ Didn’t Break Up Jane’s Addiction. (Him selling out and being a little punk did)
Rocker Dave Navarro has dismissed former bandmate Perry Farrell’s claims his reality TV show Rock Star broke up Jane’s Addiction. Guitarist Navarro claims the frontman has his timings mixed up, as he wasn’t approached to make Rock Star until he was recording with his new band The Panic Channel, which also features Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney and drummer Stephen Perkins.
Farrell said, “My band broke up basically over reality TV, and I just couldn’t believe it.” He was on the Howard Stern Radio Show making fun of the talentless poser, and everyone got a ton of laughs at Dave’s expense.
Navarro hits back on his website: “The timeline just doesn’t make sense. I didn’t even get a call about the idea of Rock Star until The Panic Channel was recording a demo with (recording engineer) Brian Virtue.” He wasn’t quoted as saying, “I have been too busy kissing dudes and wearing feathers and selling out.”
