Kate Moss Clothing Line Topshop

By Celebrity Gossip • on April 13, 2007

Cocaine Queen Kate Moss has a new business venture called Topshop. It was recently come under attack by New York magazine. “Maybe the chain was yearning for clothes that would only look good on people who are hungry and sullen? If so, then Topshop hit the jackpot,” read the article. “We’re lovers of things like food and hairbrushes, so the whole bratty heroin-chic fad she embodied back in the early ’90s bored us more than it intrigued us.” The mag called the model’s infamous coke incident “about as shocking [as] a dead battery.” The attack continued: “Since then, we’ve grown impatient with the lack of remorse on Moss’s part, as well as with her insistence on continuing to rub shoulders with her greasy, pasty, substance-bloated musician ex-/current/who-knows boyfriend Pete Doherty. Add that to the unflattering accounts of her personal habits, and she makes for an annoyingly fatuous train wreck. For God’s sake, Kate, you’re a mother. Grow up. Preferably before your daughter does.”

I am glad that people are attacking Kate Moss in the media. Now I am a huge fan of supermodels, but Kate Moss makes them all look bad. And looking bad in a literal sense and in the physical sense is bad business in the world of fashion.

The most eclectically put-together, iconoclastic and oft-copied figure in fashion is about to launch her insanely anticipated debut line — and it looks oddly familiar. Obscure pieces she’s rescued from vintage shops and flea markets often trickle up to the runways, then back down to the streets; in this sense, she’s regarded as not so much a model as a sartorial alchemist. So now you can add the word, “thief” to her repertoire.

You’re all very pretentious and childish.
Obviously jelous of the most beautiful woman in the world.
And if you want her to grow up then why publish this, only for her daughter to see and be embaressed about?
Hardly encouraging her to grow up, is it?
Jeez.

Wasn’t it Hilter that pigeon holed people and then annihilated them. Shame on you NewYorkTimes.
Try a bit of research and a bit of love next time.

I think the New York Times article and this one is right on the mark. As a mother, I believe that when you have a child you need to stop acting like one. Kate Moss needs to think of what’s best for her child. Is being in a relationship with a heroin addicted creep good for her daughter, for her? I don’t think so. Is using coke the sign of a fit parent. I think not. I think if anyone needs to grow up its the people who defend Kate Moss for her horrific behavior and borderline-abusive parenting.

It seems that the people who are unimpressed with the range are the ones who dont understand that Kate Moss acquires her style with simple, understated pieces. Its those who lack the imagination to put outfits together to look effortlessly great. Ultimately though, if you are really that desperate to capture Kate Moss’ essence, the biggest tip is to just do YOUR OWN THING.

The most beautiful woman in the world? If you honestly think that then you haven’t seen that many women- why do you think she’s so beautiful anyway? Sure she was different and quite pretty when she was younger in the early 90’s when she became big but now she just looks washed up, her heroin-chic look is boring and her clothing line is unoriginal and cheap.
Designing your own line is about being imaginitive and being able to define everything that you are in a certain piece of clothing. All Kate Moss has done is taken pieces she already owns and has given them stripes instead of spots. I mean come on, £18 for a white vest top? You must be joking,
And apart from her clothing line she is completely immature and unintelligent for her age. It’s like she thinks she’s still 16 with a rocktstar boyfriend and she can do whatever she wants. Well she’s not and she can’t. She’s in her thirties and she has a young daughter who needs her mother- and Lily won’t need to read this to see what her mother’s really like, she’ll know from just looking at her. And by the way, before you leave a comment make sure you know how to spell…
