Jack Black recently had some bad luck when he had to be evacuated from his house twice. “Last week there was a fire on my block and there were gale force winds. So the fire department was evacuating everybody in my neighbourhood,” said the School of Rock star. “And when we came back after they got it under control, the house was covered in ants… There was, like, thousands, it was a full-on infestation. We moved out. If I was a tough guy, I would have stayed. I tried to mop them up a little bit but they were mad, they were biting. We have a little baby and they were infesting the nursery area. And that’s where I draw the line. We’re out. So we re-evacuated, and went to a hotel where we had to wait over the weekend.”

Rumour has it Tom Hanks may soon make history by becoming the highest paid actor ever. Hanks could break records with the new film Angels & Demons - the prequel to The Da Vinci Code - if the supposed number of between US$29 million and US$49 million appears on his paycheque. If it’s closer to US$49 million, Hanks will beat out Jim Carrey who previously held the title of highest paid actor for earning US$39 million for his role in 1996’s The Cable Guy.

Donald Trump took his feud with Rosie O’Donnell to a new, more intimate, level when he reportedly sent Barbara Walters the underwear set the actress wore in the movie Exit to Eden. “I sent it to Barbara to hang in her office because I didn’t want it in mine. It was funny, except that it was really gross. It’s disgusting,” Trump told Page Six about the gift that was described as “a bustier” and “a giant pair of panties” and framed. “I feel sorry for [Rosie's] wife. It can’t be pleasant,” he continued. Walters tried to keep this from stirring up more childish fighting. “I am supportive of my friend and colleague Rosie,” she told Page Six, “but I have no desire to continue a feud with Donald Trump.”

She’s fulfilling a lifelong dream, jokes Sarah Silverman, host of this year’s MTV Movie Awards. “Ever since I was a little girl, before it even started in 1980 MTV I said, `Someday, I want there to be an all-music channel that gives out awards for movies. And I want to host that show,’” the 36-year-old actress-comedian said in an interview with The Associated Press. The show will air live June 3 from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. How is Silverman preparing for her new gig? “I’m getting ready,” she said. “I’m exercising every day and I do 10 push-ups, I do eight sit-ups and then I rinse off. … I want to go just a little bit too far.”

The artist sometimes known as Symbol Man publicly humiliated the partying heiress and her singing ability, according to the new issue of Us.Paris Hilton was in the audience as Prince performed at Club 3121 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas’s Club 3121 on April 20. At one point, Prince invited the “Stars Are Blind” crooner to join him onstage. A “delighted” Hilton scampered onto the stage and the “Purple Rain” singer handed the wanna-be-pop star the microphone and told the audience, “Let’s see if she can really sing,” a source told the mag. An angry and humiliated Hilton stormed offstage — and left the club two songs later, reports Us. Hilton’s rep insists that the story is untrue, and Prince’s spokesman had no comment.
