Diane Keaton was roasted more than saluted at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Monday night gala for the iconic thesp at Avery Fisher Hall.Funny folks including Steve Martin, Martin Short, Woody Allen Lisa Kudrow and Candace Bergen took loving aim at the actress, calling Keaton everything from “Diane ‘Hussein’ Keaton,” to “Eve Harrington” and an “Islamo-fascist.”
“When I say that Keaton is ‘the most unique,’” said Woody Allen, following a reel of highlights from his Keaton collaborations, “that could be interpreted as weirdness.” Allen said he had earlier asked Keaton if she wanted to subject herself to a gala where she would be “bathed in obsequious adulation all night.” Her response? “She liked that idea.”
Bergen later chimed in that while she and Keaton now compete for parts, they “can’t both play the one role a year written for the really hot grandmother.”
And in a monologue that brought the house down, Keaton’s “Father of the Bride” cohort Martin Short recalled that he once made a pass at Keaton, who was “very receptive, but chewed through the duct tape at the last minute” and got away.

It makes me laugh thinking that a young Diane Keaton was once a sexy woman, like a Jessica Alba or maybe a Paris Hilton. I have only known her as a old woman that grosses me out. I wish these old people would fade away or get better plastic surgery.

Remember that when you get older, kiddo. When you’re too young to collect a pension, but too old for anyone to give you a job. You’re as bad as a racist, but twice as dumb–you may not turn black, but you’re getting older as the day passes. Ask some twelve-year-old if they think you’re old. With any luck, you’ll O.D. before you wrinkle, and do us all a favor.

Why would I O.D.? That didn’t even make sense. I am not a racist either. I may not turn BLACK? What does that even mean. Are you on the sauce there gramps? Or have demensia kicked in. Now go change your shitbag and wait by the phone for your unloving family to call you out of obligation, not love.

I was at the event for Diane Keaton..and she deserved all the praise she received ..she is as beautiful today as she was when she was in Annie Hall…she is a legend and her next 3 projects…Mad Money, Smother & Mama’s Boy all prove Hollywood & the public still loves her too

Again, typically a response from someone who would most likely gross us all out at any age and patheticly at a younger age than a brilliant, intilectual, American legend like Diane Keaton who defies the Hollywood odds and works with the most positive reviews from qualified critics. Do you really think that a comment on your preference of physical attraction really matters to anyone who gives a crap what you think?

It’s jerkoffs like this that give the rest of us younger people a bad name.
Just to clarify, I have just turned 15 years old, and I think Diane Keaton is beautiful and fabulous.
So don’t give up hope on the complete younger generation, just a vast number of them. :)

Hi, I Noticed that in every movie that Diane acted in she was always wearing long sleeves and a turtle neck or something around her neck, I was just wondering if it was because of the old wrikly skin or what? If so why hasnt she gotten surgery like all the other actress’s, In a way its kinda awesome that she hasnt and shes natural, but she doesnt have to cover her natural beauty up.

Pretty much I agree with Kimberly; I’m 16 and although I personally found her character in “Because I Said So” excruciatingly irritating, it wasn’t her fault the script sucked. Diane Keaton might be old, but she’s still got what it takes to make it in the industry. So as far as I’m concerned, more power to her…even if she does always wear long sleeves for some strange reason. To each their own, but in my opionion you shouldn’t talk crap on people just for their age, we’re all going to be there someday. Atleast find something legitimate to shoot on.
