Heith Ledger Is Psyched About Being The Joker Heath Ledger is so excited he’s playing The Joker in upcoming film The Dark Knight, he’s been preparing the role “like a lunatic for months.” Ledger is determined his portrayal will not be a poor imitation of Jack Nicholson’s Joker in 1989’s Batman.
He says, “I’ve been bouncing around like a lunatic for months. I definitely have a different take on him, but I’ve yet to do a proper make-up run.”And the 28-year-old admits he’s been practicing the Joker’s unique laugh: “I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been (rehearsing it).”
Following Jack Nicolson is not going to be a fun project to take on. Heth Ledger is an amazing actor, there I am saying it. He blew me away in Lords of Dogstown. His performance in the movie Candy was a little too real, but genius. It was almost like he was a junkie himself. That was one of the most powerful drug movies I have ever seen. He has the potential to be Johnny Depp-esc in his career. Brokeback Mountain was BOLD to do, and he did it perfectly. In Casanova his performance was flawless. I will defend Heth all day long, he takes chances head on. I would go see or buy any dvd this guy works on.
