Heather Mills Dancing With The Stars
Heather Mills says her decision to compete on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” is no publicity stunt. Mills, who is divorcing former Beatle Paul McCartney, says she is appearing on the show for charity, not to gain public sympathy.
“I’ve been chased and hounded for 10 months and told I’m a publicity-seeker, yet I’ve never gone out and done anything,” the activist and former model says in an interview that was to air Tuesday on the syndicated TV show “Access Hollywood.”
Mills, who lost her leg below the knee in a 1993 motorcycle accident, is the first contestant with an artificial limb to compete on the dance show.
“As much as everyone would love it to go flying, I’m sure it’s not going to come off,” Mills says. “It can, once it gets hot, start to slide and come off, so I’ve pulled a sleeve over the top, which doesn’t look as cosmetically good.”
She adds: “I’ve got a secondary spare leg just in case I overdo it on the foot and it breaks or something.”

Most people cannot dance like that with two real legs. She gives hope to those who are handicapped. Anyone who hates on her is stupid and probably jealous. To diane who is a hateful bitch, I would say that I hope you lose both your legs, but I’m not a bitch like you!!!!

Why root for a woman who married a billionnaire for a few years, then divorces him and wants more out of the settlement and now goes out and dances on show while her divorce is still going on? Diane is speaking the truth there should be no bad comments towards Diane; she stands for what is right; only she’s angry. Place yourself in Paul’s shoes and if Heather did this to you, would you still cheer for her? She should remove herself from the public and give her divorce to Paul all the privacy that Paul has requested - but her focus is on herself and no one else. She has no dignity or moral in my book.

I think she is wonderful. I work in prosthetics and to watch her do what she does she just amazing. Don’t hate because she is a strong women and would probley be where she is today if she was by herself.For all you other bitches if you could marry a rich man and take half of his money you would tooooooo. firstly are any of u posting either Heather or Paul? if not, i don’t think you have the insider knowledge to comment or pass judgment or their marriage or the breakdown of it. I also note that the most negative comments are from women, what a surprise to see women hating on women, that almost never happens. Diane, you start with i think. clearly you do not, as thinking would indicate that u had a brain. i suggest you start with: my opinion, that way we know that its your opinion which you are entitled to and which we are entitled to ignore. and to suggests with such hate in your ” heart” that she should lose her other leg., i would imagine even if she did, she would still be more of a woman than you. Virgie, why should she stay out of public life “as Paul requested” when u get break up do u do what your ex partner asks of you? if u do i feel sorry that u allow others to have such control over you. Heather Mils will continue to inspire people with low self esteem over handicaps that they have and maybe to overcome them in the face of adversary. she will also invoke hate and ridicule from people who have no aspirations at all. i don’t care if her reasons for doing this show are for her own self promotion, if she inspires one person to get up and dance then she has achieved great things.

ok first of all, heather mills didn’t make the divorce public, the paparazzi did. second, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors; how do you think it felt for this woman to constantly be in the shadow of the late linda maccartney? i doubt she’s doing this for publicity, etc. aside from actually showing that people with dissabilities are capable of doing this (i also feel she wanted to prove it to herself as well, so there may be a “selfish” motive there) did it ever occur to anyone that she may have done this because she just wanted to get away for a little while from all the unpleasantness of this divorce?. she was asked to do it at the last minute because others dropped out (john ratzenberger was the other asked).
i can’t believe that the world we live in, where people are supposed to be educated, etc., that this woman is being ridiculed because of her dissability and the images and remarks that are being posted out there disgusts me. what is wrong with people?? no divorce is pleasant, and it’s only worse when the persons involved are well known. i wonder if linda and paul maccartney had divorced would she be viewed in a similar manner? my guess is that she probably would…what’s worse, i believe some of you people would have said things like “she deserves breast cancer” and alike. you people who make those comments on heather’s disability, etc., just remember that what goes around, comes around…when you wish bad things on people, it tends to backfire on yourself! again, you don’t know these people personally and don’t know what went on behind closed doors, so who are you to comment? furthermore, you hateful and ignorant people who make the remarks should probably be focusing a bit more on your own lives and faults and wonder what the media would say about you if you were in the public eye. you people are a disgrace to humanity and have no right to even be given the gift of having your unhindered mobility, when there are so many who are more deserving and don’t have it.

except Ali and Apollo, I think she was better than the others and should not have been booted off so soon.

Regardless of how much charity Heather Mills has done, who needs 100 million dollars. Wanting to write a ‘tell all book’ is callous and she will be the one harming her 3 year old daughter. Who cares if she dances or not…What a creep! Regardless of what happened in there marriage (which is by the way no one elses business).. god knows…and at the end of her time that is all that matters (Unfortunately for her.. God also knows everything about her… and what type of person she is.. Lets hope she discovers this for herself before its too late) Nicole
