The OC Has Been Cancelled
That’s right, the OC has been cancelled. Set in Orange County, California, THE O.C. premiered in August 2003. It follows a group of friends and families whose lives were changed by the arrival of an outsider – Ryan Atwood – to their ocean-side community of Newport Beach.
“THE O.C. Season Four finale will also be the series finale. This feels like the best time to bring the show to its close? said Josh Schwartz, creator and executive producer of THE O.C. “Thanks to the hard work of our cast, crew and writers, we have enjoyed our best season yet, and what better time to go out than creatively on top. It has been an amazing experience and a great run. For a certain audience, at a certain time, THE O.C. has meant something. For that we are grateful.”
Doesn’t it seem like FOX kills shows way earlier than needed? Other networks string along garbage while FOX kills hits. They tried cancelling X FILES at least 5 times before they ended up really doing it. They also prematurely cancelled Family Guy. When they saw how many dvds were being sold they brought the show back. Futurama was pure genius and that was also cancelled. “The Loop” last year was the funniest show on FOX and that didn’t make it to a second season either. Now, THE OC?!!! How insane is this decision? Either their expectations are too high, or they are matching up shows in the wrong time slots. DUMB DUMB DUMB. Millions of little girls, housewives, and metrosexual men will be left in the dark when it comes to hip sayings and current fashion trends.

The O.C. does not have to end. Some of us who are very passionate about the show will do what it takes to get OC fans to join together to influence at least one more season of the OC. Don’t let the sun set on the O.C.!

This is the stupidest decesion that the people at fox have ever made why would you cancel a show that has just now started to get good. Yes there was a little bit of a slump in the begining of this season but it got so much better. Please tell me that this is all a sick joke and mayne they will change their minds and keep the show we all love at least another year thanks

marissa was the lamest….it was shody writing and a lack of direction….week in and week out lets put these characters through the most surreal and over the top character assinations we can think of! no wonder the show was cancelled. it was good at the pilot….but fizzled come season 3. marissa cries too much and no one can relate to her.

The O.C is great, it has helped a lot of people deal with issues that come up when your a teenager, and is really inspiring to some peopkle. By cancelling now I think Fox has basically said to all the cast of the O.C that since Misha Burton has left the show isn’t the same and should be cancelled. My opinion is that although Misha Burton was the “main” character it takes lots of people to make up a tv show, a cast carries a tv show not just one person!! and in actual fact for me i enjoyed watchin the relationship develop betwenn seth and summer rather than the goings on of marissa. The 4th season has just started over here in the u.k and i know a lot of people will be sad to see it go, i just hope fox has made the right decision. Good luck to all the remaing cast for when the show ends. I hope it ends well, like charmed did!!! Sad to see it go. Jen xx

I think that they should’ve at least waited til the end of the year (whole season) because that way, when the dvd comes out, it’s not just going to be a 2-disc dvd. They could’ve ended it like other tv series like friends, home improvement, etc. not in the middle. It’s the least they could’ve done.
Marissa was pretty much the same in every episode. She was really dramatic and she had to cry at least once in each episode. If she hadn’t died, then.. what kind of story lines would they come up with? it’ll all be the same, something happening with Marissa. Either she overdoses, kills someone or have something dramatic going on with her family/boyfriend. I started to get sick of her after awhile.
I still watch the show whether or not she’s there. It’s disappointing.

thank god its being canceled its sooo stupid and lame!! there is no story polt..its so repetitive ryan ’s character is so annoying he can never confess…thats the wisest decisions that Fox has made!!

I was a big fan of The OC first and second season. I think it went downhill a bit after that. Especially after they killed off Marissa’s character too. Fox does seem to cancel lots of popular shows which doesn’t make sense. Well if you guys want to win The OC DVD’s they have a sweepstakes at Cyworld. The oc is a great show for the 13-30 demographic its going to be very sad to see such an inspiring show for all ages be cancelled. Let’s just say I thought it was a joke when I heard the O.C was cancelled! This is the only show on T.V that I look forward to watching. I REALLY think that Fox is making a big mistake cancelling this great show!! it will truly be missed! As for the last couple of episodes!! wow, they are pretty intense! It’s sad to say it’s ending, time to buy all the seasons on dvd.

I am totally disappinted with the last efew episodes of the oc… I thought they finished it way to fast… 3 weeks before the show ended Kirstin was pregnant… then last show, 3 weeks later she’s having the baby! Kinda quick don’t u think! I agree with someone who said they so can continue the show! And I have soo many ideas of what could have been.. Many of the ideas that were on the show.. came from me.. talking with Adam Brody and stuff helped it a lot, but ending so qiuckly is not what I thought would happen! BRING BACK OC JOSH!!!

Josh sould stop being a lazy ass and make another season for the sake of us teens.

the drama was intense,
the romance was soo cute
the show was epic

i cried for weeks cause the drama was so upsetting yet exciting.

we sould find out where Josh lives and hold him hostage under the bed until he agrees to make more seasons ;)
