American Idol Mean To Contestants
The “American Idol� juggernaut has become ever more popular in this, its sixth season. But it sure seems meaner, too. At least that’s the talk this week as the judges — not just the acerbic Cowell, but the usually genial Randy Jackson and the kind but loopy Paula Abdul — up the torture quotient, taking train-wreck TV viewing to a whole new level.
Simon said to the man, “You look a little odd. The dancing is terrible. The singing was horrendous and you look like one of those creatures that live in the jungle with those massive eyes. What do they call them? Bush babies.�
Paula calls Simon “sick� and tells the man that he was good and blah blah blah, but as soon as he leaves she starts laughing at him along with Simon and Randy.
I think the media and blogs are trying to make this a racist issue. Look at the kid, he really looks like that creature. After dealing with 1000 of these people, Simon probably runs out of things to say. I don’t even think this was that bad.
