Yvonne De Carlo, the former star of The Munsters, has died at the age of 84.

Born Peggy Yvonne Middleton in Vancouver, Canada, De Carlo emerged as a screen star during the 1950s when she played Moses’ wife in Cecil B. De Mille’s 1956 biblical epic The Ten Commandments.

However she was best known for playing elegant vamp Lily Munster in The Munsters, which ran from 1964-1966.

De Carlo’s first film came in 1941 with Harvard Here I Come!, one of nearly 100 movies she starred in. Other notable roles included the femme fatale opposite Burt Lancaster in the 1949 film noir Criss-Cross.

In the 1970s and 1980s, De Carlo made a string of low-budget horror movies such as House of Shadows”, “Sorority House Murders and American Gothic.

De Carlo was married to the late stuntman Bob Morgan from 1955 to 1968 and the couple had two sons.

I will always remember Lily and her sexy outfits she wore on TV. As a kid she turned me onto that whole vampire-chick look. Later on Elvira became my next gothic crush. You were my first undead love, Yvonne. RIP.

Yvonne was the greatest. I loved the Munsters as a kid and still do. It may be my alltime fav. Now my kids tease me when I watch it on cable but they always sit there and will not turn the channel because they like it too! Except my four year old who actually is scared by their outfits.
Herman and Lilly, the best T V couple EVER!!!!!!

As a kid I watched the Munsters and loved Lily. She was bright and funny. She really added a lot of spunk to the cast. It wasn’t until much later in my life that I recognized her in the Ten Commandments. She played Zephora the wife of Moses. Her beauty was exquisite and incomparable. Yvonne, thank you for the entertainment you provided us, you will truly be missed.
