It was a year of glam and glitz, secrecy and PR pushing. The paparazzi and the hollywood elite each had their access. Here’s a recap of the celebrity marriages of 2006:
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Wedding: 400 feet to make Katie’s veil, a Italian castle built in 1426, 1000 candles, a 20 minute Scientology ceremony, 28 space ships, and 150 guests including Will Smith, Jim Carey and Brooke Shields. This was the dream wedding of all weddings. I give them 4 years then Katie Holmes will be mysteriously beemed into another galaxy. Her body not being found will be bigger than the OJ case.
Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley Wedding: This punk pop princess sported Vera Wang and the wedding was held in Montecito, California. I give them 19 weeks.
Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood Wedding: Only 16 guests dressed in kimonos in Kyoto, with 3 geisha girls who sang a song at the end of the ceremony, with an ex-husband as the best man. Very odd indeed, but remember she was married to wacko-Jacko back in the day. (I’d love to hear some of those stories). I give them 54 days.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Wedding: This wedding was funny. Normally celebrities are trying to hide from the paparazzi, Nicole was doing press releases to get a buzz going for her wedding…but no one was interested. HAHAHAHAHAH. Can’t stand this over hyped actress. I give them 5 years and a quite divorce.
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott Wedding: Tori had a huge comeback this year with her new TV show, and this marriage. She has done a great job getting back into the public eye. Dean promised 1440 minutes each day to worship Tori (this will just raise the bar dude…she’s gonna eat you alive). I give this 14 more months.
Pink and Carey Hart Wedding: 10,000 roses at the Costa Rica wedding with matching tattoos (Tru Luv)….maybe they had to pay per letter….also Costa Rica tattoo shop…hello HEP C. 31 weeks.
Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney Wedding: This redheaded Desperate Housewives star had 240 guests, including her cast, with a 5 foot , 5 tier wedding cake. The guy looks like a Prince Charles look-a-like to me. I give them 3 years.
